The Dulahin Dulaha West Indian Bridal Expo
& Pageants (DD Expo) is organized annually for the West
Indian/Indo Caribbean community and anyone interested in the hype.
It was established in 2007 to
create an avenue which allows us to come together
in the spirit of marriage. It will display a
culturally rich event uniting exhibitors from a
diverse Caribbean market.
In 2010, the DD Expo was overwhelmed with
requests to incorporate pageants and so the Miss
West Indian Canadian
Pageant was produced.
The DD Expo will maintain and enhance the quality of Bridal Shows
and pageants, for the benefit of exhibitors and the public, to
encourage greater responsibility to the community, to increase
communications and integrity with exhibitors and fellow
producers. To connect, develop resources, and gain
inspiration in an environment of mutual support and camaraderie
within the Caribbean market.
A group of dedicated professionals have come together to ensure
the DD Expo is a grand success. These individuals possess the
creative and technical skills to make this avenue a reality.
Read about this dynamic and highly experienced team. They will
make the DD Expo an event to always remember for the
Caribbean community. |

Julie Rambali,
President |

“Watch your thoughts, for they become words,
Choose your words, for they become actions.
Understand your actions, for they become habits,
Study your habits, for they will become your
character. Develop your character, for it becomes
your destiny - Author Unknown”. This quote was
imprinted in the heart of Julie Rambali,
at the age of 17, and helped shape the drive for
professional success she has now.
Born in Guyana, a beautiful country made up of vast
ethnicities in 1977, Julie Rambali entered into her
family, consisting of her loving and supportive
mother, father, and older brother. Her family plays
a major part in her life, as they continue to help
shape her moral and ethical values. The family moved
to Toronto Canada in 1986, when Julie was 9 years
old. They moved to explore their opportunities for a
better life. “Guyana will always hold a special
place in my heart. I often reminisce playing in the
rain, flying my hand-made kite in the sea of kites
during Easter at the beach, going to church every
Sunday in my ‘mom made me wear it’ frilly frock,
celebrating all holidays from all religions, and of
course, eating endless types of fruits directly from
my backyard or stealing it from my neighbour’s.”
Since then, Julie graduated from Parklawn Junior
Middle School, and has attended high school at
Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, Western Tech
Collegiate Institute, and completed her high school
Diploma at Thistletown Collegiate Institute. She
felt a huge amount of culture shock which lead her
to switch schools. Julie was finally able to find
comfort in the diverse ethnicities and intern an
ease to find herself while attending Thistletown
Collegiate Institute.
It was while she was in high school she realized her
love and skill for computers. Julie then proceeded
to graduate in 1999, from Seneca College for
Computer Programming and Design. In 1998 while at
Seneca College, she foresaw the major career
opportunities within website design. She then
decided to launch her own business,
Infinite Linx,
which focuses on website development, domain
hosting, and graphic arts.
While living in the vast climate change of Toronto
Canada, Julie has not forgotten her West Indian
heritage. She is the organizer of the annual
Dulahin Dulaha West Indian Bridal Expo and
the Miss West Indian Canadian Pageant.
She felt a need to not only give back but take it to
the next level and coordinate different
opportunities for the West Indian community.
“Always love what you do, and aspire to do more!”
lingers in your mind after a conversation with Julie
Rambali. She is described as a “well organized busy
body that runs a tight ship!”. She puts her heart
into her career behind the scenes, as she does not
seek to be recognized.
Despite the unavoidable parking tickets and
continual construction within the city of Toronto,
Julie loves her city. You could find her walking her
dog, Daizy (a mini Daschund), or camping and fishing
in northern Ontario. Julie has played 8 ball and 9
ball for over 10 years and currently captains a team
of 7 pool players. She likes to relax with a cup of
tea and watch a movie. Her favourite movies include
Pulp Fiction and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
The sky is the limit for Julie and she knows it,
intern she is able to conquer her goals and become
the multifaceted entrepreneur she is today. |

Born
in England to Guyanese parents, David Singh is an
individual who is passionate about his culture. It's
that burning passion that led to his involvement

Graduating from Ryerson University with a degree in
journalism, David has worked as a sportswriter for
bluejays.com, in addition to
holding other jobs in the industry. He is currently
